WSOP Results: Gambling Prowess Pays Off For Farha Again

Sammy Farha has been involved with these bracelet presentations several times in the past, but they never get old. On Tuesday, Farha won his third World series of Poker gold bracelet after defeating James Dempsey in an Omaha Hi-Low Championship event.

Farha had lingered near the top of the leader board for much of the day, and when the time came to go heads-up with Dempsey, Farha showed why he is a three time champion. Dempsey was going for his second bracelet this year, but Farha proved too skilled in the five hour heads-up match.

For his win, Farha took home $488,241. He beat out 212 other players to win the tile, and now Farha will set his sights on a push for Player of the Year honors. Dempsey did not walk away empty handed, the second place finish netted Dempsey $301,789.

In other action on Tuesday at the WSOP, Event #24, a No-Limit Hold'em tourney, has reached the final table. JD McNamara is the chip leader with almost 2.4 million chips. Thanh dat Tran is right on McNamara's heals, holding just over 2.3 million chips. Jeffrey Tebben is the low stack at the table with 466,000 chips.

Daniel Negreanu is hovering near the top of the chip counts at Event #26, a No-Limit Hold'em/Six-Handed tournament. Negreanu is currently in fourth position, with just forty-five players remaining out of the 1,245 that entered the event. Jeffrey Papola is the chip leader.

Events #26, 27, 28, and 29 are all in progress, with the $10,000 buy-in Limit Hold'em World Championship being the big tournament in progress. Today, a $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event will begin at noon, and a $1,500 H.O.R.S.E tourney begins at 5PM from the Rio in Las Vegas.
